MedHyve Bags Grand Prize at TechShake and Merck Group’s Access to Health Pitch Competition

Among 50 applications and 12 finalists across the Southeast Asian region, MedHyve reigned supreme as the grand winner of the Access to Health Pitch Competition. The competition was hosted by TechShake and Merck, in partnership with Brainsparks, Schoolab, and Indogen Capital! 

The Access to Health Pitch Competition aims to champion health startups in the Southeast Asia region that offer innovative solutions to gaps in healthcare systems. The competition aims to address patient access in areas such as disease awareness, diagnosis, patient accessibility, treatment, patient screening, and supply.

Curiosity drives our company to discover new things, to achieve new scientific insights and breakthroughs to create, prolong and improve lives of patients. I am proud to be part of this project which aims to expand the access to healthcare within the Asia-Pacific region so we can help more patients and deliver our purpose.

Merck’s Access to Health (A2H) programs and initiatives respond to local needs while generating long-term value for the company, its stakeholders, and the environment. As the grand winner, MedHyve was awarded a $20,000 equity-free cash prize and the opportunity to work with multinational pharmaceutical giant, Merck. MedHyve was also joined by fellow health startups Semudah Health, Alaga Health, and ISOFHCARE. The following startups placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd runner up respectively.

About The Access to Health Pitch Competition

In 2021, Merck launched the Access to Health Pitch Competition to find and accelerate solutions that address health systems gaps in low and middle income countries. Their partnership with TechShake was launched to identify and support start-ups in Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines that develop innovative solutions for access to health.
